Anyone have any idea what "E.G." stands for? Bioguide doesn't say and I played around on Google for several minutes without finding an answer. The H.W. Wilson Co.'s biography resources also produced nothing. PedanticallySpeaking 22:14, Sep 9, 2004 (UTC)

Copying my answer from the Reference Desk, in case it wasn't noticed there:
Well, this page says his name was Elmer Greinert Shuster, and this one and a few others agree. But it seems to be very rarely used. (I found it simply by guessing what E could stand for — Edward, Eric, Edmund...) -- Vardion 05:39, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Was it the governor alone who named the highway or did he sign a bill passed by the Penna. legislature? In my state, Ohio, it takes a bill passed by the General Assembly, to rename a state road. PedanticallySpeaking 22:33, Sep 9, 2004 (UTC)

Big Dig

[edit]

He was also key in getting the Big Dig in Boston going. Health reasons were also the official story for his retirement but his long time aide Ann Eppard was embroiled in some controversy as well. Let me get some sources. Devtrash 01:23, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was about to be kicked for corrupution. He resigned in such a way that the local GOP committee could push through his son. I have no sources yet, will look around. --RedShiftPA (talk) 21:53, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
