Images

[edit]

When uploading images please always edit the image description page and do two things:

  1. State the source of the image (created yourself, the address of a web page or another source.)
  2. State the copyright. The easiest way to list the copyright is to use a copyright tag. The most important tags are {{GFDL}}, {{PD}}, and {{fairuse}}. GFDL is for images that you create yourself. PD is for public domain images (pre-1923 in most cases). Fair use is for copyrighted images that we can use under the fair use rules in the USA.

Without proper source and copyright information, images will eventually be deleted!

If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images (on my talk page) and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much.

In particular Image:Portland from eastbank with ship.jpg is a great image, but it needs this information. Zeimusu | Talk 04:01, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Also Image:Wiki_seattle_alki_01.jpg, which may get removed from Seattle, Washington if the lack of a tag will keep it from becoming a Featured Article (nomination). Thanks Niteowlneils 04:17, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

As you indicated to me in email, I have marked all your images as GFDL, except the two Image:PortlandOR allbridges.jpg and Image:Portland_from_eastbank_with_ship.jpg, which I have listed for deletion on Images for deletion.Zeimusu | Talk 03:37, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • There are objections to the deletion of the portland images. Could you see that page and comment. Zeimusu | Talk 08:21, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Potrero Hill

[edit]

Interesting addition to the article - I used to live on the hill and always wondered why the streets were in that order. Is there a source for that? RosinDebow (talk) 02:31, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
