Category talk:Kings of Persia

[edit]
  • The following was moved from the talk page for Category:Kings of Prussia before it was deleted. RedWolf 23:44, Jan 16, 2005 (UTC)

I know that Shah means King in Persian, but the word "Shah" is almost universally used in English. Shouldn't this be Category:Shahs of Persia? john k 21:09, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • John: A Shah is a King so what is the fuss about? Keep as is. IZAK 18:54, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Indeed a shah is a king. But the term "King of Persia" is rarely used in English. We should stick with conventional English usage. john k 23:03, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)

As per the suggestion above, a motion to replace this category with Category:Shahs of Persia has been listed on WP:CFD. If there are any objections, they should be listed there. -- Itai 22:43, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
