Ukrainian-Russian war

[edit]

There is an ongoing discussion on the neutrality of this section in the Talk:War crimes in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine#Human shields article. Please make any comments on the War Crimes / talk page Ilenart626 (talk) 00:45, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This Wikipedia contains Russo-Ukrainian War article. You impose here the name Ukrainian-Russian War, why?

@Xx236: Volenteer Maresk incorrectly removed the "The neutrality of this section is disputed" template, just before your edits and unfortunately your edits were reverted when I fixed this issue. The same wording in this article is being argued in the War crimes article, hence the link between the two. Will add your edits back, however note this section is likely to be edited once we reach consensus in War crimes (but not by me!). Ilenart626 (talk) 12:01, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
yes, this should be Russo-Ukrainian War, Russian invasion of Ukraine or something like that. Not Ukrainian-Russian War. My very best wishes (talk) 15:04, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Russia Ukraine war

[edit]

Recently report by Amnesty International has shown that Ukrainian forces are endangering civilian by places military objectives in populated areas, it could mount to human sheilds, in context of how the term is being used here in this article Ukrainian forces have put civilians in harm’s way by establishing bases and operating weapons systems in populated residential areas, including in schools and hospitals, as they repelled the Russian invasion that began in February, Amnesty International said today. Such tactics violate international humanitarian law and endanger civilians, as they turn civilian objects into military targets. The ensuing Russian strikes in populated areas have killed civilians and destroyed civilian infrastructure. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/08/ukraine-ukrainian-fighting-tactics-endanger-civilians/ I see no mention of this in article kindly add. Does it say that Ukrainian forces used civilians as human shields, i.e. they forced their own [Ukrainian] people to shield a legitimate military target in order to deter the enemy [Russians] from attacking it, as this page defines it? I do not see it in the source you cited. My very best wishes (talk) 03:21, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fork out the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

[edit]

Currently the Israeli-Palestinian conflict section takes a big portion of this article. The topic is important and deserves to be covered. But here it is starting to occupy an WP:UNDUE portion. I proposed forking it out to an article called "Human shields in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" and leave only a summary behind here.VR talk 02:13, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. Note also how the israel section is very hard to read because the reports seem contrarictory Hovsepig (talk) 07:42, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I too agree with this. My very best wishes (talk) 23:46, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Erroneous image description

[edit]

The second image notes how "Arabs" are using the ambulance and as human shield. 1) a vehicle isn't human, 2) the original image source describes how a detainee not pictured was being used as a human shield by IDF forces, not "Arabs" pictured SiiLv3R (talk) 03:50, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
