Shouldn't there be a section devoted Austin Powers' impact on pop culture? Such as "Groovy Baby", "Oh Behave", and "Shagadelic", for example.

This is Wikipedia, so you know what to do: be bold!

I'll just gonna say it, there NEEDS to be a reference to the ERB episode James Bond vs. Austin Powers somewhere in the "In Popular Culture" section or somethin' like that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.141.65.72 (talk) 18:01, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

there is now, and it is totally ~GROOVY!~

Moving of info

[edit]

I don't know what the rules would be here, but it seems that some of this could be moved to the pages of the individual movie pages. But I don't know the first thing about exactly what, so I won't mess around with it.67.70.96.73 20:10, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What does this mean ?

[edit]

"Use of obscure impressions" Should it be "expressions" ?77.96.59.93 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:46, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

mess around with what??? i don't get it... T_T

Actors and acctresses who play the characters

[edit]

I think that the charcters in the characters section should link to whoever played them.

Ya BABY!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE SHAG-EDELIC!!!!!!!!!

Scott Evil

[edit]

"Scott Evil -Seth Green- Dr. Evil and Frau Farbissina's love child. Scott is the result of an implied difficult childhood, and is constantly shown as an immature young adult."

Wouldn't it be more proper to say that he is often the more level-headed of the badguys, while Dr.Evil is the immature one? Bjelleklang - talk 23:32, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Zip it, scott. Look i'm 'zippy longstockings'" that does prove that dr. evil is kinda immature, but that is also what makes him totally awsome!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a yiddish speaker in the house?

[edit]

This might be one for the trivia section: I heard from someone that Frau Faubissina's name has a meaning when translated...

Next

[edit]

Will they ever make a 4th Austin Powers film? The Republican 02:12, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

probably not, but it would give me great pleasure if they did!!!

I dunno, having a 4th movie may be a bit of a strain on the character, we don't wan't him to lose his MOJO BABY!!!! YA!!!!!

The way they ended 'Goldmember' with Scott cursing Austin seemed to me like a good setup for a 4th flick...Libraryboy13 (talk) 23:10, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of some sections

[edit]

Check history for which. An article on the character should not have a list of characters from the movie.JONJONAUG 04:06, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. It's a combnation page of the series and the characters. Someone oughta fix thatJONJONAUG 04:06, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

there is a sentence in this article that goes something like: "this is highly certainly correct..." the idea that this is grammatically correct is too fantastic to be even rediculous

Rather like the above, then. Locuteh 21:44, 13 January 2009 (GMT) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.68.165.82 (talk)

Splitting The Page

[edit]

I'm not sure I agree with having one giant page about the character of Austin Powers AND the movie series. As the article stands right now, it's a very odd hybrid of both -- I think this article should be JUST about the character himself, with the other topics moving into separate areas (assuming they don't already exist). Amnewsboy 13:08, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, there should be a page for Austin, one for each movie and one for Dr Evil and then one for supporting characters and then one for minor characters Danrduggan 13:44, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

agreed, some body

Orignal sources

[edit]

Would it be correct to say that the Loadybots of the first 2 films were drawn from 'Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs', a mis 60's Vincent price film. No direct source just a vague memory of the movie, baby. 82.29.179.92 15:11, 18 October 2006 (UTC)fishwaver[reply]

They were Fembots, and I believe Fembots existed in a very similiar style in the original The Bionic Woman. Douglasnicol 17:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

There are separate entries for the Austin Powers character and the Austin Powers series. To my mind anyone searching for Austin Powers would be interested in the films (which is the larger aricle) rather than the character and therefore propose that the redirect be made to the series. I'll give this a couple of weeks to see if there is any response before making a change. Barfbagger 11:10, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Things To Do Before I Die"

[edit]

I thought that part in "Goldmember" was rather funny, and I think it would be interesting to post Austin's "list" on his page here. I took the liberty of closely examining the film's footage and I've successfully copied it here. It's interesting to note that all the items on his list were crossed off, except for the last one (and although he crossed off the objective about the Japanese twins, it seems he wasn't able to complete that one after all). We can only assume that he did in fact cross out the last objective at the end of "Goldmember."

THINGS TO DO BEFORE I DIE

Become International Man of Mystery

Save world from certain doom

Find true love

Go to outer space

Travel through time, backward and forward

Be cryogenically frozen

Catch Dr. Evil in the first act

Threesome with Japanese twins

Earn Daddy's respect

Fair use rationale for Image:Austin Powers.jpg

[edit]

Image:Austin Powers.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Austin Powers (film series) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 15:45, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

[edit]

I cut down on the personality section, since it was almost entirely original research and written with an in-universe style. It was based on the writer simply watching the films and quoting things, which is not in keeping with Wikipedia policy.Catherinejarvis (talk) 18:31, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

dr. evil

[edit]

What if people don't know that dr. evil is austin power's brother? that would spoil the movie! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.58.4 (talk) 17:17, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
