Isaac Newton

[edit]

Why isn't Isaac Newton's (new style) birthday on this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.244.223.89 (talk) 12:16, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is a "new style" birthday? And why is it that, when you click on the link to Isaac Newton's page, it says his birthday is December 25th, 1642 (instead of January 4th, 1643)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:448:C300:6030:B485:F398:B454:2C08 (talk) 18:27, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See Old Style and New Style dates. Toddst1 (talk) 18:30, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because under the calendar in use in England at the time, March 25th was New Year's Day, NOT January 1st. December 31, 1642 was followed by January 1, 1642 and March 24 1642 was followed by March 25, 1643. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:A9B0:527F:4DB:E957:A60D:4DB (talk) 07:08, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Since Isaac Newton's birthday has been added to the list since the original query back in 2012 I've added 'NS' and a link to match the usage of 'OS' for his birth as listed on the December 25 page. JezGrove (talk) 16:10, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

holidays and observances World Braille Day

[edit]

World Braille Day does not have an article unto itself; it is simply listed on a list of UN holidays without further information. Does that satisfy our requirements? --2607:FEA8:FF01:4B63:2483:84A6:FE19:ADBA (talk) 15:35, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
