Theisinger

[edit]

I think we might also want to create a Pete Theisinger article. --Ed Senft! 01:56, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Here is a photograph of Theisinger. Image:040123theisinger.jpg. --Ed Senft! 01:58, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Pronunciation

[edit]

Anyone that knows IPA his last name is pronounced just like "squires". Cburnett (talk) 07:19, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hoagland bit

[edit]

An anonymous user added some potentially libelous material. An external link to http://www.v-j-enterprises.com/hoag724.html was added presumably as a reference, though the first paragraph was copied verbatim into this article.

I removed it because the press release is hosted by v-j-enterprises.com which seems to have absolutely no connection to Squyres, NASA, or Hoagland and I can't see any reason to believe it's a reliable source. Since the reliability is in question and its controversial material I removed it per WP:BLP. Cburnett (talk) 03:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Education

[edit]

The exact degree titles from the Cornell University website are used in the article, i.e., Geological Sciences and Astronomy (Planetary Studies). (For the former, refer to Steven W. Squyres - The Franklin Institute Awards - Laureate Database: "He earned his bachelor's degree in geology in 1978 from Cornell University" and, for historical perspective, William A. Bassett: "In 1978 he [Bassett] became a member of the geological sciences faculty at Cornell." [•1978-1999, Professor, Department of Geological Sciences, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY] For the latter, refer to DEGREES, SUBJECTS & CONCENTRATIONS tab, Subjects: Astronomy (Ph.D.), Major concentrations: planetary studies and Cornell Department of Astronomy Faculty Steven Squyres: "Ph.D. 1981 (Planetary Science) Cornell University" as well as Cornell University Astronomy Former PhDs.) --72.193.73.84 (talk) 18:08, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
