- Phase equilibria is the equilibrium state achieved in a material system in which there are no chemical reactions taking place between various species. Because of the absence of chemical reactions amount of each species is conserved.
which I think is wrong - it should be
- singular
- physics rather than chemistry (i.e. solid, liquid, gas)
- note that chemical equilibrium does involve reactions, but that the reactions going one way are balanced by those going the other way
