MPICH and MPICH2 should be merged. MPICH2 evolved into MPICH 3.0 so the name MPICH2 is largely a historical artifact at this point.

thread safe?

[edit]

So, is MPICH2 thread safe? Can I call send & recv from different threads? Google only knows that in 2005, this was not the case (it was THREAD_FUNNELLD) but now that its 2012... linas (talk) 01:23, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. MPICH2 is thread-safe. You can run a simple test to confirm this.

changing the channel

[edit]

It is not clear what is meant by the term 'channel' in the discussion of MPICH. I'm sure it has some technical meaning which could be elaborated on to the benefit of the article. Does it mean like a channel of distribution of MPICH or is it some other more technical reference? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.45.121.6 (talk) 14:35, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
