Soliel images

[edit]

I'm not much of an expert on copyrights and image use, but I imagine they would fall in the same category as images used on some of the TV and movie articles, which many Wikipedians claim falls under "fair use (and all the sections under "Image guidelines" following that paragraph)(see also fair use). Another option is to write for permission, as I did for Image:PerthZooMalleefowl.jpg (used on Malleefowl). Also, most works of US government employees are public domain, so you might do a google/yahoo/whoever search for "Cirque du Soleil" .gov and see if there are any that are public domain, as that is, by far, preferable.

Since you haven't received the standard Wikipedia welcome yet:

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them:

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

(PS A better place for your note would have been my my talk page, as that way I get notified immediately that I have a message waiting, but no big deal. Niteowlneils 01:34, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
PPS I am concerned that Dralion seems to be entirely a cut&paste from their Website[1]. Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted text. Please use your own words for articles. Thanks. Niteowlneils 01:42, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Great. I was hoping you'd take care of it. I'm only on for another hour or so tonight, but if they were unchanged and I hadn't heard from you by the time I started editing tomorrow I felt I was going to have to put {{copyvio}} tags on them, but would rather avoid entangling them in that process (it has to stay that way for a week, even if re-written, etc.). Your comment did remind me of one other thing I was going to suggest about images--I try to get them from a "press kit" or 'media center' or something like that, as it seems clear anything offerred to the media is intended to be re-distributed. That seems like a reasonable solution for now, at least. Niteowlneils 04:50, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Texas Chainsaw Horns

[edit]

The article Texas Chainsaw Horns has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long unreferenced Band article, no claim to notability, no significant sourcing.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
