Yakko, Wakko, and Dot Warner, usually referred to as the Warner siblings or just the Warners, are the fictional protagonists of the American animated series Animaniacs. The Warners appear in most of the skits in the show, as well as the theme song and logo.

Yakko, voiced by Rob Paulsen, is the oldest of the three. Wakko is the middle child, voiced by Jess Harnell, and Dot (full name Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca III), voiced by Tress MacNeille, is the youngest and only female of the three. In the original television series and reboot, the trio reside in the Warner Tower, evading detection by Ralph the Guard, though this is not the case in Wakko's Wish.

Background

[edit]

Series creator Tom Ruegger initially modeled the Warners' personalities heavily on those of his three sons.[1] The species of the Warners has been made deliberately unclear within the series.[2] Officially, within the series, the Warners are claimed to be Cartoonus characterus, an obviously fake Latin phrase.[3][4] The characters were also originally intended to be ducks.[5] The Warners' parents are not known, but in the movie Wakko's Wish, it is revealed that they were the king and queen of Warnerstock.
