Sápmi/Lapland

[edit]

I took out the entry that said Sápmi is also called Lapland. These names do not in fact imply the same area - Lapland is a part of Sápmi. See the article Sápmi for more info. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.157.242.172 (talk) 08:11, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colours due sex

[edit]

Blue for males and red for females is taken from Nordisk familjebok. But as you mentioned it there is need to clarify that both colours is used today by both males and females. This simply needs to be investigated further. // Rogper 13:19, 23 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I think the right place for this information would be an article on gakti. Unfortunately jag talar inte svenska (although I did try to learn it once), and I can't find anything in English on the internet that is sufficiently detailed. Maybe you could have a go? Thanks. Specifications

[edit]

Has anyone found any specifications for the proportions of the flag? What are the respective sizes of the bars, and of the circle? --Orzetto 20:39, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

See http://www.sametinget.no/artikkel.asp?AId=166&MId1=1&Back=1, its in norwegian, but you should get the picture(!). ZorroIII 20:32, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Flag usage controversy

[edit]

A section about the controversy with regards to using the flag, and respecting the Sami flag days should be added.Labongo 21:47, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rule of tincture

[edit]

The rule of tincture is not too well-defined for simple tricolors; if you blazon the flag of Germany as "per fess, gules and or, a chief sable", it complies perfectly. AnonMoos (talk) 14:12, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
