Trying to fix them, I deleted and restored several times:

Just once:

  • Panax 589421,589420,589418,589417,589415
  • Bomba 578716,578721,578720,578718,578719
  • User:Trebor1990/Hungarian 590293, 590289,590290,590291,590292,590288,590285,590286,590287,590284,590282,590283

My deletion log entries should show: From [[User:Topbanana/Reports/Duplicate_article_title|Reports/Duplicate_article_title]], deleting to restore as per [[Meta:Multiple titles]]

Excellent - the next time the databases are dumped I'll regenerate the report and we can confirm the articles above are fixed. Cheers. - TB 09:04, Jun 18, 2004 (UTC)
Yup, the entries above (multiple delete/restores and signle both) appear to be fixed in the June 20th database dump. In the meantime, a few new instances have cropped up - compare the new and old lists - TB 13:12, Jun 22, 2004 (UTC)
Looks like a single delete/restore is sufficient. I will try do this with the remaining ones as well. Hopefully, I will find the right namespace for "Trebor1990/Hungarian" next time. -- User:Docu

I went through part of the list (from A to Battle of Mukden; and those with more than two versions). I kept getting time-out errors trying to delete BPPR and ARRC.-- Docu

It's done up to Gary Ward. --User:Docu
I've done up to Red Line. Angela 19:22, Jul 21, 2004 (UTC)

Good work guys. I've regenerated the report from the 22nd July DB dump. I can confirm all entries A through R on the old list are fixed (other than Pipestone_County which looks to have re-ocurred). Unfortunately, a slew of brand new duplicate entries have appeared (98 new instances in namespace 0 from A-T). - TB 12:53, Jul 28, 2004 (UTC)

Actually, as the audience of this page would seem to include interested parties, we've got some oddly named articles in the database which need zapped also:

+--------+--------------------+
| art_id | art_title |
+--------+--------------------+
| 246635 | _ |
| 464767 | _Hugh_Sykes_Davies |
+--------+--------------------+

There is a properly titled Hugh_Sykes_Davies article (id 810509) also. - TB 12:53, Jul 28, 2004 (UTC)

Some handling is indeed needed for some more such articles: See User:SirJective/Unreachable pages. --SirJective 16:41, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hello, independently from your work I figured out this problem for myself, my list is on User:SirJective/Double entries. I also created und uploaded lists for the german and the dutch wikipedia. I wrote to wikitech-l and wikipedia-l (the latter didn't show up on the list) to get sysops from other wikis attracted on this topic. --SirJective 23:59, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)

This report has been discontinued. The problem giving rise to duplicate article titles is assumed fixed. - TB 14:56, 2005 Jun 8 (UTC)
