[edit]- Feast Day: The source I used for the feast day is Lives of the Saints, by the Catholic Book Publishing Co., New York, with a nihil obstat and imprimatur from the archdiocese of NY renewed 1977. If there are any other dates, please cite the source of the information. As stated, the article indicates only the feast day in the Roman Catholic Church, which is all that the Catholic Book Publishing is concerned with. I have no doubts that other old churches would have different dates, but these must be stated with qualifications. Geogre 01:13, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- You're right, I'm sorry. The reason for my mistake is the fact that September the 24th is the "Rupertikirtag" in the city of Salzburg. I myself live in Salzburg, Austria. That day is school-free for children and most of the shops, banks and administrations are closed. The German Wikipedia [1] shows September the 24th as well. --tonip 19:11, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- For whatever it's worth, I'm getting some interesting conflicts with my sources. I have two sources, both Roman Catholic, and both from the 1970's, and they agree with each other in almost all respects. However, I am also coming across Roman Catholic churches with online hagiographies and calendars with the same saints on different days. I don't know how to resolve this, except to go with the old principle that what's in print takes precedence over what's online. (sigh) Here I was, though, trying with all my might to see Wikipedia at least list all the saints of a day in a consistent manner. Consistency and Wikipedia may have to remain antonymns. :-( Geogre 12:27, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- on institute for practical theology, university of salzburg, they published on http://www.sbg.ac.at/pth/links-tipps/past_ein/gok/kal.htm the general roman calendar, with regional extensions. rupert is marked as regional extension for the german speaking regions. but he is not mentioned as general entry on 27 march, see http://www.sbg.ac.at/pth/links-tipps/past_ein/gok/maerz.htm. --ThurnerRupert (talk) 16:21, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
